Mira Johri, PhD, '98 M.P.H., is a professor at the University of Montréal’s School of Public Health and a principal scientist at the University of Montreal Hospital Research Centre where she works in global health. Using quantitative evaluation methods, Johri aims to better integrate concerns for equity and fairness into health policy. She is particularly interested in maternal and child health in low- and middle-income countries. Since 2010, her work has focused on equitable access to childhood vaccines both at the global level and in India. At the global level, she collaborates actively on indicators for equitable vaccination coverage with Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance. In India, she is working to enhance equitable access to immunization through innovative approaches to community engagement.
