This is an ongoing project to study the rapid growth of today's cities. What explains their expansion? How do policies interact and affect the shape and rate of urban expansion? The project focuses on the expansion of urban land and the built environment.

Professor Seto has worked with the Qatar Ministry of Commerce to evaluate the growth of greater Doha and the vulnerability of the region to sea level rise.
