Title- “How to survive the Biobank GWAS gold rush? - new genotypes and new phenotypes”
Abstract
UK Biobank has changed the game of GWAS forever. When phenotypes and genotypes of half a million people is made available, GWAS becomes a gold rush, and the obvious winners go to those with efficient execution power. Here I offer a perspective from a small research lab with limited resources. I will present new algorithms that define new genotypes based on identical-by-descent segments. I will also describe self-supervised deep learning approaches for defining new imaging phenotypes. In addition, I will describe potential new genetic associations uncovered using our methods.
