 derstanding of research methods (hypothesis statement\, quantitative/qual
 itative study design\, epidemiology and biostatistics) and ethical princi
 ples that will enable them to write\, organize\, and perform a research s
 tudy abroad. Although this workshop is not mandatory for applicants\, att
 endance will be monitored and given positive consideration by the Down’s 
 Committee. In addition\, students who attend at least 3 of 5 or more of t
 he workshops will be eligible for help from the instructor on their resea
