DESCRIPTION:Chantelle Nobile Hart\, PhD is a Professor in the Department o
f Social and Behavioral Science in the College of Public Health at Temple
University. Trained as a clinical psychologist\, her program of research
focuses on the identification of novel behavioral targets for prevention
and treatment of pediatric obesity and prevention of cardiometabolic dis
eases. She has two primary lines of research: understanding the role of e
nhancing children’s sleep duration and timing to decrease risk of obesity
and cardiometabolic disturbance\, and the effect of early life risk fact
ors on children’s obesity risk. A cross-cutting theme of this work is the
identification of effective approaches to decrease health disparities in
pediatric populations. Dr. Hart has served as standing member on the Psy
chosocial Risk and Disease Prevention study section and the Lifestyle Cha
nge and Behavioral Health study section at the National Institutes of Hea
lth. Her work has been continuously funded by the NIH and the American Di
