DESCRIPTION:Dr. José Guillermo (Memo) Cedeño Laurent is an Assistant Profe
 ssor at the Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Institute at R
 utgers University. He directs the Climate Adaptive and Restorative Enviro
 nments (CARE) Lab\, where his research focuses on understanding and mitig
 ating the health impacts of climate-driven hazards—particularly wildfires
  and extreme heat. His work emphasizes wildland–urban interface fire air 
 pollution\, indoor exposure to particulate and gas-phase contaminants\, a
 nd the development of data-driven tools\, including sensors and digital b
 iomarkers\, to assess and reduce human health risks. He received his ScD 
 in Environmental Health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Healt
 h\, a master’s degree in Energy Engineering from RWTH Aachen University i
 n Germany\, and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Tecnol
