DESCRIPTION:Database searches are the foundation of evidence synthesis\, b
ut even the most carefully designed strategies may miss relevant studies.
Citation chasing is a powerful supplementary technique that uses the ref
erence lists and citation networks of known articles to identify addition
al research. In this session\, participants will learn how citation chasi
ng fits within systematic and scoping review methodology and how it align
s with reporting guidance such as PRISMA and TARDIS. The workshop will in
troduce different approaches to citation chasing\, including backward and
forward citation searching\, and discuss when these methods are most use
ful in evidence synthesis projects. The session will include a live demon
stration of a practical citation chasing workflow\, showing how additiona
l studies can be identified\, exported\, and prepared for screening using
commonly used research tools. Learning Objectives By the end of this wor
kshop\, participants will be able to: Define citation chasing and describ
e how it complements traditional database searching Explain when citation
chasing should be used in evidence synthesis Describe how citation chasi
ng relates to reporting guidance (e.g.\, PRISMA and TARDIS) Distinguish b
etween backward and forward citation chasing Recognize commonly used tool
s for citation chasing Apply a basic workflow for identifying and managin
g additional studies Who should attend: Researchers\, clinicians\, traine
es\, and staff conducting or supporting systematic reviews\, scoping revi
ews\, or other forms of evidence synthesis. Format: Lecture-style present
ation with opportunities for discussion and Q&A.\n\nAdmission:\nFree\n\nD
