DESCRIPTION:Talk Overview: Same-day antiretroviral therapy and the decentr
alization of HIV care from specialty hospitals to primary care settings a
re recommended strategies to improve access\, retention\, viral suppressi
on\, and health system efficiency. This talk explores how Nominal Group T
echnique (NGT)\, a rapid mixed-methods research approach\, can be used to
identify and prioritize barriers and potential solutions to implementing
such evidence-based strategies. Drawing on real-world examples from Peru
and Malaysia\, learn how NGT can be used to inform efforts to reduce sti
gma\, lessen patient burden\, and strengthen HIV treatment and prevention
in low- and middle-income settings globally. Speaker Bio: David Oliveros
\, MPH (Associate Director for International Research\, Section of Infect
ious Diseases\, Department of Internal Medicine\, Yale School of Medicine
) David Oliveros oversees multi-country NIH-funded studies focused on sti
gma reduction and integrated care models for HIV and substance use. His r
esearch focuses on strategies to optimize the care continuums for HIV and
opioid use disorder\, particularly across Latin America\, Southeast Asia
\, Eastern Europe\, and Central Asia\, using mixed-methods and implementa
tion science approaches to identify service gaps and strengthen care deli
 very for key populations. https://medicine.yale.edu/profile/david-olivero
