 emiology of Microbial Diseases\, Yale School of Public Health Dr. Bothwel
 l is an ethicist and historian of public health. Her research examines so
 cial\, historical\, and ethical dimensions of epidemiology with a particu
 lar focus on randomized controlled trials (RCTs). Her current book projec
 t examines how international and national policies have influenced trial 
 rigor and ethics\, protections of vulnerable trial subjects\, and partici
 pant diversity in RCTs. She also does work on community-based participato
 ry research ethics in low- and middle-income countries. QRDG Overview: Th
 e goal of the Qualitative Research Discussion Group (QRDG) is to provide 
 opportunities for individuals involved in qualitative or mixed-methods re
 search to meet regularly to discuss the qualitative research process and 
 potentially problem-solve issues that may arise when engaged in qualitati
 ve research. Discussion topics include\, but are not limited to: logistic
 s\, data management\, analysis\, dissemination\, role of the researcher\,
  and ethics. It is intended as a venue for discussing research in progres
 s and new or relevant literature on qualitative methods and practice as w
 ell as to create networking opportunities and foster research collaborati
