DESCRIPTION:A new NIH Public Access Policy has come into effect. It requir
es Author Accepted Manuscripts accepted for publication in a journal on o
r after July 1\, 2025\, to be submitted to NIH upon acceptance for public
ation\, for public availability in PubMed Central on the Official Date of
Publication. In this session\, we’ll answer some basic questions about t
he new policy\, such as these: I have an NIH-funded manuscript under revi
ew at a subscription journal. Will the journal allow me to comply with th
is policy of no-embargo public access? What exactly is an Author Accepted
Manuscript\, and how is it different from a Final Published Article? Dur
ation: 20 minutes of lecture/presentation\; 20 minutes of Q&A Learning ou
tcomes: participants will be able to describe the new NIH Public Access P
olicy and plan how they will comply with it. Audience: NIH-funded researc
hers and the staff and students who work on NIH-funded research Note: In
this session\, we will focus specifically on the new policy. We won’t be
using the NIH Manuscript Submission System. If you want to know more abou
t NIHMS\, we offer video tutorials and an NIH Public Access Policy guide.
