DESCRIPTION:The Health Sciences IT team would like to cordially invite you
to attend our first “AI Prompt-a-Thon ” workshop open to all faculty\, s
taff\, and students. We have 50 open seats available for this onsite\, in
-person workshop and have customized it specifically for a YSPH audience.
What is the AI “Prompt-a-Thon”? First developed by NYU Langone Health’s
MCIT Department of Health Informatics\, Institute for Innovations in Medi
cal Education\, and Institute for Excellence in Health Equity\, a prompt-
a-thon is a collaborative session where participants will explore generat
ive Artificial Intelligence (AI)\, learn how to interact with generative
AI through prompt engineering\, and discover how generative AI could play
a part in their personal or professional lives. Here is some additional
 background: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39042600/ https://www.healthc

 rompt-thon https://nyulangone.org/news/nyu-langone-health-hold-ai-prompt-
thon-event What happens in the workshop? The prompt-a-thon is a fun 60-90
-minute session! The prompt-a-thon will be led by a facilitator\, who wil
l introduce generative AI\, teaching the participants techniques to craft
effective prompts\, and provide sample prompts for participants to try.
The workshop may be organized by individuals\, groups or teams who will c
ollaborate on crafting the best prompts for the most ideal output. The se
ssion offers hands-on experience with generative AI\, allowing participan
ts to apply learned prompting techniques in real-time and share the resul
ts of their interactions with generative AI within groups. Please bring y
our own laptop (or iPad) and charger to the workshop. Participants will l
everage Clarity\, which is Yale’s conversational generative AI chatbot si
milar to chatbots like ChatGPT. Clarity currently supports the ability to
interact with the popular OpenAI model GPT-4o. Microsoft Copilot may als
o be included in the workshop depending on the timing. There will be no P
HI\, high risk\, or identifiable data or prompts used in this workshop. E
xample prompts will be based on topics relevant to YSPH faculty\, staff\,
and students\, such as: Curriculum Research Outreach Collaboration Evalu
ation Grant Writing Policy Analysis Data Analysis Program Development Adv
ocacy Who should attend? The workshop is open to any faculty\, staff\, an
d students who wish to learn more about the 101 basics of GenAI prompt en
gineering with a chatbot. What are the learning objectives and how will t
his impact my work? By the end of the workshop\, you will be able to: Und
erstand the basics of an AI chatbot and how they work Develop your own pr
ompts based on trial and error Apply this technology for your daily work
Participants will be encouraged to think creatively and critically about
how prompt engineering can be applied for accomplishing routine tasks in
their daily work for greater efficiencies. What do I need to enroll? It i
s recommended that participants enroll in the Workday Learning prerequisi
te as there is limited space for each prompt-a-thon. Once enrolled\, plea
se remember to bring your own laptop (or iPad) and charger to the worksho
 p. Will this be recorded? Will additional workshops be held if I cannot a
ttend? This will not be recorded and future sessions are TBD following th
 e kickoff.\n\nAdmission:\nFree\n\nDetails URL:\nhttps://medicine.yale.edu
