DESCRIPTION:Annie Harper\, PhD\, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry\, Yale
School of Medicine Annie Harper has a PhD from Yale University in cultura
l anthropology. She conducts research on how vulnerable populations\, par
ticularly low income people with mental illness\, cope with poverty and f

with mental illness in particular. She is committed to combining rigorous
research with practical work that makes a difference now\, to which end
she works closely with the City of New Haven and the broader community’s
efforts to provide support to low income residents struggling with financ

years in New Haven with her husband\, who is originally from Pakistan\, a
nd their three children. QRDG Overview: The goal of the Qualitative Resea
rch Discussion Group (QRDG) is to provide opportunities for individuals i
nvolved in qualitative or mixed-methods research to meet regularly to dis
cuss the qualitative research process and potentially problem-solve issue
s that may arise when engaged in qualitative research. Discussion topics
include\, but are not limited to: logistics\, data management\, analysis\
, dissemination\, role of the researcher\, and ethics. It is intended as
a venue for discussing research in progress and new or relevant literatur
e on qualitative methods and practice as well as to create networking opp
ortunities and foster research collaborations. CIRA’s Interdisciplinary R
esearch Methods (IRM) Core Core member\, Lauretta Grau\, PhD\, is coordin
ating the meetings. She can be reached at lauretta.grau@yale.edu .\n\nSpe
