Doctor of Public Health student Paola Abril Campos and I have initiated a project in Mexico City, Mexico focused on achieving better health outcomes by enabling routine and systematic learning from quality indicators in primary health care centers. We will aim to improve population health through better non-communicable disease screening and treatment in Mexico through 3 main objectives: 1. To identify variation in performance by state and facilitiy, as well as determinants of any variation observed. II. To develop data visualizations for performance monitoring for primary healthcare centers directors and district level health system managers. III.To design and test interventions to improve the quality of care. Currently, we are working to hire staff to conduct the work necessary.
