CMIPS Director Dr. Spiegelman Co-organizes and Leads Virtual NHLBI Workshop on Ethical Questions in Implementation Science, December 10-11, 2020

December 07, 2020

Aiming to facilitate the uptake of effective interventions and evidence-based policies, the practice of implementation science raises many new ethical questions. For example, individual informed consent may be difficult to obtain due to unique implementation science study designs, and its ethical basis may nevertheless need to be re-examined here.

To begin to tackle these ethical questions, Dr. Donna Spiegleman, Director of the Yale Center for Methods in Implementation and Prevention Science (CMIPS) and Susan Dwight Bliss Professor of Biostatistics at the Yale School of Public Health, has worked closely with leaders at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) to organize and convene a two-day virtual workshop, “Ethical Questions in Implementation Science” (December 10-11). Speakers—all leaders in implementation science, bioethics, and clinical practice—will map out the ethical terrain that implementation science traverses and identify the salient ethical questions and issues that require study.

Workshop registration and the agenda are available here. You are invited to join us.
