DESCRIPTION:The burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in Nepal has ri
sen substantially over the past decades. Numerous research studies have e
xamined the magnitude\, distribution\, and determinants of NCDs\, and sev
eral national policies and strategic plans have been developed to address
this growing challenge. Despite these efforts\, the burden of NCDs conti
nues to increase\, highlighting persistent gaps in prevention\, early det
ection\, and the effective implementation of existing policies. This pres
entation will discuss the current burden of disease\, Nepal’s epidemiolog
ical transition\, and the prevalence of major NCDs and their risk factors
. It will also review existing policies and strategies and emphasize the
critical role of implementation research in strengthening evidence-inform
ed decision-making and bridging the gap between research\, policy\, and p
 ractice.\n\nSpeaker:\nMeghnath Dhimal\n\nAdmission:\nFree\n\nFood:\nLunch
